Hydrochloric acid/sodium hydroxide

An independent brewing company in the North of England approached us because they needed to transfer quantities of hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide (separately of course).

The hydrochloric acid was a 37% solution, as concentrated as you can get. This is a highly corrosive yellow acidic liquid that gives out a burning vapour of hydrogen chloride.

The sodium hydroxide was a 50% solution, also very corrosive. Its called caustic soda for a reason.

We recommended  AODD pumps with different types of chemically resistant seals for these applications.

We would be glad to talk about the solution to this problem with you.
